At Buckingham Palace’s state banquet on Tuesday, Princess Kate wore her first tiara in nearly three years. A state banquet was held to welcome South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to the U.K. during King Charles III’s first state visit.
Princess Kate wore a Jenny Packham gown and Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot tiara for the elegant evening.
It was also a favorite of her mother-in-law, Princess Diana, with pearls hanging from diamond knots. Originally commissioned by Queen Mary in either 1913 or 1914 by the jeweler Garrard, the stunning sparkler is more than a century old. The tiara is a replica of one owned by Mary’s grandmother, Princess Augusta of Hesse.
