After trying to dig a trench with his machine to try and stop the approaching wildfire from reaching Tábara, a Spanish farmer escapes in the nick of time. In an attempt to save his life, he abandoned his digger and suffered serious burns.
A series of heatwaves have caused several fires in southern Europe in recent months. A heatwave that lasted for eight days has finally come to an end in Spain, but dozens of wildfires remain. Over 75,000 acres of land have been incinerated across the country.
