For moviegoers who love playing the trivia games before the show, you may be disappointed. Canada’s largest theatre chain is pulling the plug on its partnership with the company that produces an in-theatre pre-show trivia game.
After nearly a decade, TimePlay is being axed, and one representative for Cineplex says the pandemic has forced the company’s hand.
TimePlay gave moviegoers an opportunity to test their cinematic knowledge while earning Scene loyalty points and interacting with advertisements on the big-screen.
When @CineplexMovies theatres return, TimePlay won't be there to welcome moviegoers back. According to Cineplex, "after nearly 32 million games and over 330 million SCENE points awarded, the end of 2020 saw the final TimePlay game played at our theatres." pic.twitter.com/EAE19lffgr
