Rinse! When you rinse your milk and beer, and other alcohol containers, it helps get rid of smells associated with beverage containers.
Flatten horizontally! They can’t accept aluminum cans that have been flattened up and down (like hockey pucks) is because we need to be able to read the label to ensure the beverage container was purchased in Saskatchewan.
Removing Caps! So they can flatten containers without having caps get caught in the machinery. Caps are still recyclable; however, they are made from different types of plastics and metals than the containers themselves and; as such, must be recycled separately.
Sort It Out! It is not mandatory to sort your containers before coming to SARCAN; however, we recommend sorting for faster service and for a more accurate count.
Drop off your containers, tag your bags, and go. You can receive your payments through PayPal, by picking up a cheque, or you can donate your refunds to a bottle drive or charity. Drop & Go is all about choice!
