If you went to school at any time during the 90s or early 2000s, you probably drew or saw other people draw, a stylized S made of fourteen connected line segments
Could you tell me what that “S” was all about? All I could find were boards and Reddit conversations of nostalgia
It seems the “S” has appeared throughout North America, South America, Europe, Russia, Asia, and Australia. While some think it’s a 90s thing, others say they’ve seen it as early as the 1960s. It was allegedly the symbol of some 80s hair-metal band. According to some people, it was the original logo for the clothing brand Stussy. In the minds of others, it looked like the Superman logo. It wasn’t clear to anyone.
A similarity between the S symbol and the infinity symbol can be found in the way its tails loop around the back and connect. This could be due to the fact that it was an adaptation of an older image. The symbol may represent infinity since it seems to have no concrete origin story and may have existed since the beginning of time.
