Elliot Lake, a Northern Ontario town rich in hockey history, faced a tough loss when its 55-year-old Centennial Arena closed due to aging infrastructure. But rather than backing down, the community rallied together—securing the title of Kraft Hockeyville 2024 and a $250,000 prize to restore their beloved rink. The win not only brought NHL stars like Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin to meet local fans, but it also ensured young hockey players could practice in their own hometown again.
This is what Kraft Hockeyville is all about—keeping the heart of Canadian communities beating strong. Arenas are more than just ice; they’re where friendships form, families gather, and future stars take their first strides. However, many of these facilities are aging, with more than a third of Canada’s rinks in need of repairs.
Saskatchewan—It’s Our Time to Win!
Saskatchewan has not won the title of Kraft Hockeyville in a very long time. Let’s change that this year! Several rinks across the province have already been nominated—now it’s time to rally behind them.

How to Get Involved
From January 1 to March 2, 2025, communities across Canada can nominate their arena at krafthockeyville.ca for a chance to win $250,000 in upgrades and the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game. Even the three runner-up finalists will receive $25,000 for arena improvements and $10,000 in youth hockey equipment from the NHLPA Goals & Dreams program.
Winning starts with a nomination and a rallying community. Gather your neighbors, share your town’s hockey story, and spread the word on social media. Public voting takes place April 4-5, with the winner announced on April 5, 2025.
🏆 Let’s bring Hockeyville home to Saskatchewan! 🏆
