An alert for possible tornado activity and severe thunderstorms was issued for North Battleford yesterday after a funnel cloud was spotted in the area. The Voyent Alert, a mass notification service used by the city, advised people to seek shelter and avoid unnecessary travel. Environment Canada’s forecast for the Battlefords area indicated a risk of thunderstorms for Wednesday afternoon, but no extreme weather warnings or watches had been issued as of 5 p.m. Nadine Wright shared a video of the funnel cloud in action.
