Memphis might be home to the blues, but this past Friday night, it was all about the grooves. Justin Timberlake returned to his roots to drop a new song aptly named “Selfish,” and let me tell you, the reception was anything but. A sea of phones lit up the night as concert-goers captured the Tennessee-born superstar dazzling the local crowd.
Imagine the screams (and possibly some faints) as the actor/musician gave his first live performance of the track. With the energy high and the Memphis love undeniable, Timberlake turned the stage into his playground as fans soaked up every beat. And as expected, social media was buzzing faster than mosquitoes on a Mississippi night, with videos of the performance spreading like hot gossip at a family barbecue.
In this case, what happened in Memphis definitely didn’t stay in Memphis. Fans from far and wide tuned into the snippet clips, craving more. So, if you weren’t there, now’s the chance to vicariously live the spectacle and keep an eye out for what JT has coming next. Because if this song is any indication, we’re in for a treat that’s sweet as Tennessee whiskey.
